Nestled in the Cornish countryside, Trevethan Distillery is a beacon of British distilling heritage, where classic methods meet modern ingenuity. Born from a 1929 recipe created by Norman Trevethan, a chauffeur with a discerning palate, the distillery captures the elegance of his trips to London’s roaring twenties cocktail scene, elevated by the wild botanicals of Cornwall.
Revived in 2015 by chemist-turned-master distiller John Hall, Trevethan has grown into a highly respected and awarded gin distillery. Every drop is crafted by hand in traditional alembic copper stills, named Doris and Rose, using a double pot still configuration to maximise flavour and consistency, following exacting London Dry methods.

The collection is led by the Original 1929 Dry Gin, a smooth, juniper-forward spirit infused with ten botanicals including handpicked Cornish elderflower and gorse flower. Chauffeur’s Reserve, a bold navy-strength gin, honours Norman’s private stash with intensified botanical depth. Honey Oak Gin brings richness and warmth, aged with hand-toasted Cornish oak and local black bee honey. Grapefruit & Lychee Gin offers a modern take on tradition, crafted by distilling an essence of grapefruit and lychee separately before blending it into the Original 1929 Dry Gin base, resulting in a vibrant and zesty gin.
Every spirit at Trevethan Distillery is handcrafted with precision, passion and perfected by science. It’s pursuit of innovation continues to push the boundaries of modern British gin, without ever forgetting where it began.
It’s not just gin – it’s a sensory journey through time, terroir, and tradition.
See you at the bar.
