London’s most exciting new opening and set to open its doors at the end of May/start of June, this nautical-inspired cocktail bar, helmed by industry veteran Gabriel De Vere, promises a voyage into the diverse and captivating world of rum.
Picture this: You step across the threshold, and suddenly, you’re aboard a ship—a vessel that sailed the high seas during the 1600s. The hull, lovingly recreated, cradles the essence of fame, fortune, and adventure. Welcome to the Rhum Tavern, where every plank tells a tale, and every drink whispers secrets.
The Captain: Gabriel De Vere, a seasoned mariner of mixology, has charted this course. His love affair with all things rum—whether spiced, aged, or infused—fuels the tavern’s spirit. A rum enthusiast for over 20 years, guests will be invited to explore the vast ocean of expressions that rum offers, over 400 in total.
Rustic and immersive, the Rhum Tavern beckons from the heart of Oxford Circus. Picture curved wooden walls, intricate wood-panelled designs, and barrels aplenty. It’s as if you’ve stepped into a captain’s quarters, where maps unfurl, and tales of distant lands echo.
From 4 pm to midnight, Monday to Wednesday, and from 4 pm to 1 am, Thursday to Saturday, the Rhum Tavern will welcome travellers. And fear not—the retail element, boasting some 400 rums, will set sail a few months later, allowing you to take a piece of the voyage home.
