The Connoisseurs Cocktails of 2017

It's a tough job but someone's got to do it. We invited a crack team of cocktail connoisseurs to taste and evaluate every single cocktail at CITC and give us their professional opinion on their favourite drink. 

Each drink was judged on appearance, taste and balance and originality the scores were counted and the winners were announced. 

But who were they and what did they create? 

Here are the eight winning cocktails at Cocktails in the City UK in 2017, please give a round of applause please.

Like No Other - Created by Three Six Six

40ml Carrot and Cilantro infused Brockman’s Gin

10ml Blueberry Infused Lejay White Chocolate Liqueur

30ml Mandarin Juice

15ml Lemon Juice

15ml Bayleaf and Madagascar Vanilla Honey

1 Bay Leaf

1 Caviar spoon Balsamic Vinegar Pearls

5ml Viagra Bitters

Described as like walking through an enchanted forest at night - one for the imagination! 

Leeds - Leeds Town Hall

The Yorkshire Lass - Created by Vice and Virtue

Death's Door Gin

Pressed Cloudy Apple Juice

Homemade Rhubarb Jus

Fresh Lemon

Egg White

As seen on Sunday Brunch this drink used fresh local ingredients including forced Rhubarb as Yorkshire is the proud home of the Rhubarb Triangle!

The Illicit Parisienne  - Created by Arcane Bar

30ml Courvoisier VSOP

12.5ml Cherry Heering

10ml Mezcal

25ml Homemade Cacao and Vanilla Cordial

20ml Egg White

This drink was built and inspired by a Courvoisier Cognac and chocolate pairing experience utilising the Tonka Bean - an ingredient highly valued by leading chefs around the world for it's complex and aromatic flavours.

Roots of Agave - Created by El Bandito

50ml Ocho Blanco

12.5ml Agave Syrup

25ml Lime Juice

20ml Carrot Juice

Topped with a pineapple foam

A bar on a mission to educate the masses on agave this drink did the trick balancing freshly pressed carrot juice with the light spicy notes of Tequila Ocho.

A show winning drink from one of the worlds most highly respected bars. A refreshing Gin mule cocktail with a kick.

A simple and refreshingly delicious herbaceous drink, full of flavour and perfect for a vicars garden party.

Wild at Heart - Created by The Spiritualist

25 ml Snow Leopard vodka

20 ml Cocchi Rosa

15ml Limoncello

20 ml Basil syrup

50 ml Roast strawberry, sweet red pepper & Szechuan puree

2 drops grapefruit bitters

Pinch of lemon salt

Created in partnership with Heart FM, a charitable cocktail with every penny going to The Make Some Noise charity.
